Growth Development Associates, Inc. (GDA) believes that managerial best practices are best identified by current managers and by those who are being managed successfully and effectively. Your own employees are best suited to share what is working and what is not working; what they value in their relationship with their manager and what they want or need and are not getting. GDA will translate their perceptions and observations into detailed managerial Best Practices for your organization in continuous real time. The value of these Best Practices:
Create a continuously improving management coaching culture by the daily mining of your own best management and coaching practices and presenting them in concise, captivating, weekly communications with your entire management team. Complement field sales best practices initiatives (like GDA’s Epiphany program) with management coaching best practices by articulating how successful managers are demonstrating when to intervene, when to demonstrate, and how to energize their employees. Leverage real traction of training programs by incorporating examples of management reinforcement of skills to produce actual results.

Managers Mentor™ can be combined with Epiphany™ - GDA’s new Field Sales Skills Tuning program featuring Continuous Sales Best Practices.
1. How will this work with my existing programs? We’ll incorporate the key concepts of your existing and planned development strategies into the stories we look for when we talk with your sales people. We’ll add elements from GDA training and consulting services that are compatible with your programs to refresh and expand on the concepts. Where we find examples of managerial excellence we will seek to identify the manager for recognition. Where we find examples of management shortcomings we will protect both the source and the manager in question. Requisite feedback will be provided to such managers through the proper organizational channels as needed.
2. Will this be a burden to my sales force? No burden at all. Our sampling will rotate among people in the field. With a 500 person sales force, for example, no one would receive a call from our consultants more than once during the year.
3. What if there are no good examples or stories to be shared? There are always lessons to be shared from employee-manager relationships. The entire sales force will be invited to email success stories whenever they believe they have a noteworthy managerial example. In addition, GDA consultants will sample the field directly. All GDA consultants have sales and sales management experience. We’ll make calls until we find a story that can be replicated to help the field. Further, if Mentor for Managers is implemented as a direct companion to GDA’s Managing Performance, Consultative Selling, Preferred Partner, or Epiphany… we will be able to ask specific questions that expand upon the highlights of those programs.
4. What assurances can you give me that this will work? The program will work because of the compounded credibility built into the delivery concept. First, experienced managers, manager trainers and field sales consultants, GDA brings levels of credibility due to our collective field experience. The management tools and techniques are highly credible, having emerged as the result of proven managerial curricula from some of the most successful corporations in American history, such as IBM, Xerox and AT&T. Finally, since the coaching lessons will be based upon first hand testimonials from your company’s employees, the material is real and believable. GDA’s ability to summarize these occurrences and associate them with clear lessons and conclusions will enable other managers to learn and emulate those successes.
5. Why shouldn’t we just do it ourselves? Perhaps every company should be doing this, but in fact almost no one has the time. Your people are running hard to keep up with their day to day work, and it is not likely that they would find the time to daily inspect the field and create compelling success stories to share. You would need management trainers to best highlight the skills reflected, and you would need sales managers to capture the sales management coaching components. GDA consultants have all been sales people, sales managers and sales trainers… and this is what we do as professionals.
6. Do you have the resources to handle our large size? Absolutely. Because GDA is dedicated to sales and management training, our consultants have the time and focus required to discover and present sales successes in a skills building format.
7. How do we get started? As soon as we have your agreement, GDA will meet with members of your sales and human resources management teams to understand the key skills you want reinforced through your Mentor for Managers program. We will require reporting structures, email and telephone numbers of the field workforce to be interviewed, and we can begin your program within two weeks. From that date, we’ll deliver weekly summaries, complete with field input, highlighted management behaviors, and manager coaching guide supplements for the next fifty-two weeks.
Epiphany™ is an annually renewable program featuring continuous field sampling of field sales activities that work. Add Epiphany™ to Mentor to ensure the communication of best practices in both sales and management.
